About us
Founded in 2004, Break the Silence is a registered Scottish charity (SC036263) and company limited by guarantee (SC341157), offering specialist support to people aged 13+ affected by childhood sexual trauma across East and North Ayrshire.
The charity is governed by a Board of Trustees, responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the charity. The Board comprises of a diverse range of skills and lived experience of sexual trauma is present on the Board.
Representing Survivors
Break the Silence is a respected voice for those affected by childhood sexual trauma. We represent this community on key local and national platforms, and we have people with lived experience present on our board, staff and team of counsellors. Client views actively shape our services through our client-led advisory group and twice yearly client surveys.
