Our Governance
Break the Silence is governed by a dedicated board of trustees responsible for the charity’s strategic direction and compliance. Trustees act in the best interests of the charity and are committed to high standards of care, diligence, and accountability.
The board upholds all legal requirements under OSCR and Companies House, ensuring compliance with charity and company law, fundraising regulation, and public transparency.
A structured induction programme supports new trustees, with ongoing training delivered to ensure informed governance and effective stewardship. Trustees meet regularly to oversee strategy and risk management.
Break the Silence is a living wage accredited, Disability Confident, and Fair Work First employer. We maintain business continuity and data protection plans in compliance with ICO guidance and hold Cyber Essentials Assurance certification.
