How to refer
If you or someone you care about is ready to contact Break the Silence, please choose the right option below and complete our referral form at your own pace.
Once we receive your details, someone from our client liaison team will contact you within five working days (this may take longer during holidays or busy periods). They will explain your options, discuss what feels right for you, share our terms and conditions, and go through the service user agreement you will be asked to follow.
Organisations such as GPs, Community Connectors, Social Work, Mental Health Teams or other statutory and third sector services can refer on your behalf with your consent if you prefer.
Break the Silence offers free, confidential support for survivors of childhood sexual abuse in North and East Ayrshire. We also welcome partners and family members affected by a loved one’s childhood trauma.
If you live in South Ayrshire, support may be available through Moving On.
We support people of all genders, backgrounds and identities, embracing equality and diversity. We are not able to offer services to anyone who has committed, been charged with, or been convicted of a sexual offence.
At Break the Silence, we only collect the information you choose to share with us. This helps us contact you about your appointments or with other information you have asked for. Having a note of some basic details like date of birth, gender, reason for referral, and health information helps us meet our funding requirements. Anonymised data may be used for funder reports, always with care for your privacy and confidentiality.
