  • Person-centred Therapy

Person-centred

Person-centred therapy is a supportive approach that places you at the heart of the work. At Break the Silence, this means creating a warm, respectful space where you can explore your experiences in a way that feels safe, unhurried and led by you.

Person-centred therapy focuses on how you see and understand yourself, and it values your own capacity to grow and heal. Rather than directing or analysing you, your therapist aims to offer empathy, acceptance and genuine understanding so you can feel heard without judgement.

For survivors of childhood sexual abuse, this can be especially important. Many people carry shame, self-doubt or a fear of being misunderstood, and a person-centred approach can help reduce that sense of pressure by giving you space to speak freely at your own pace.

The relationship between you and your therapist is central to this way of working. The aim is to build trust and create a steady, compassionate space where you can explore what has happened and begin to make sense of its impact in a way that feels safe for you.

Accessing Support

Getting support is simple and safe. Contact us by phone, online form, letter or self-referral (or you can refer someone else with their consent). If using post, envelopes are plain for your privacy. Our trauma-informed team will reach out within five working days to discuss options at your pace.
